How it works — SignalHaus.
Project-based research · annual partnerships

How a year works.

SignalHaus delivers research as discrete projects on an annual partnership. Send a brief, we come back with a scope in days, the study runs, you get a five-page decision memo. Then onto the next one. Twelve-month contracts are the default — six months is the minimum. We start within two weeks of signing.

01.You brief us

Send a brief — one question, one deadline.

Every project starts with a brief in your portal. One research question. One decision deadline. One team owner. Two minutes to write, no template to fight. We triage within a working day.

You can run a project at any time during the contract — the only thing we ask is what you're actually trying to decide, and when you need to decide it.

02.We scope it

Back to you with a scope, in days.

Within three working days you have a scope: method, sample size, timeline, deliverable. No multi-stage discovery dance. No second sales contact. Just the plan, ready to green-light.

If the question doesn't actually need research, we'll tell you and propose what to do instead. We'd rather lose the project than charge you for validation theatre.

03.We run the study

Senior, end-to-end. No hand-offs.

Once you green-light the scope, we run the study. Recruitment, fieldwork, analysis — all senior-led, no junior hand-offs. Typical project: three to five weeks from green-light to memo. Faster if the brief warrants it.

You see a status update every Friday: what shipped, what's next, anything you need to know. No "is this on track" anxiety. No status theatre.

04.You decide

Five pages. One recommendation. Done.

Every project ends with a five-page memo a product lead can act on the same week. We present it live, walk through the recommendation, and answer your team's questions in the room. Plain language. One recommendation. Two alternatives we considered and rejected, and why.

The memo lands in your research repository — yours to keep, searchable forever. Then we line up the next brief.

Contract shapes

Twelve months. Six months. One way of working.

Project-based work, annual partnership. Twelve-month contracts are where the work compounds — that's the default. Six months is available when you need to start smaller. Anything shorter and the model breaks: you'd pay set-up costs for a relationship that doesn't have time to pay back.

6-month partnership

A half year.

Three to four projects across six months. One strategic review. A mid-contract synthesis. The minimum partnership that still pays back.

Every contract includes

The same bar,
every project.

a

Senior on every brief

The lead you talk to in the kickoff is the lead doing the work. No junior hand-offs. No account managers.

b

Five-page memos + live debrief

Every project ends with a memo a product lead can act on the same week — plus a live debrief with your team.

c

Recruitment + ops handled

Screening, incentives, scheduling, transcripts — all included across the contract. You bring questions. We bring participants.

d

Searchable repository

Every memo, indexed and searchable across the contract. Yours to keep at month 6 or 12 — whichever ends your partnership.

e

Start within 2 weeks of signing

No setup quarter. No four-week onboarding ritual. We start the first brief within two weeks of contract signature.

f

Fixed contract fee

One number, agreed at signing. Billed quarterly across the contract. No per-project add-ons, no surprise invoicing.

g

Quarterly fit checkpoints

At quarter boundaries we review whether the partnership is on track. If it isn't, we wind down together — no inertia.

h

No automatic renewal

Next contract starts with a fresh conversation about what you need next — not a renewal invoice you forgot to cancel.

Pricing philosophy

How we price the contract.

No project quotes. No hourly billing. No surprise invoicing. Five rules we hold ourselves to — written down here so you can hold us to them too.

i

Fixed contract fee, billed quarterly.

One number, agreed at signing. Billed across quarterly instalments — four for a 12-month contract, two for a 6-month contract. It doesn't move because a study ran long, a stakeholder wanted three extra interviews, or a quarter needed an extra method. The contract absorbs that. The invoice doesn't.

ii

One quote. One conversation.

Pricing happens after a thirty-minute fit call — not before. The fit call is free. The quote arrives within a working day. No multi-stage discovery process. No second sales contact. No price reveal at the end of a slide deck.

iii

Everything is in the line item.

Every project across the contract — recruitment, incentives, transcription, scheduling, panel hosting, repository tooling, ops — all included. The only line on the invoice is the quarterly instalment. No per-project add-ons, no setup fee, no "panel access" charge, no "report fee."

iv

Quarterly fit checkpoints baked in.

At every quarter boundary, both parties review whether the partnership is on track. If it isn't, we agree how to wind down — together. The annual commitment is a planning commitment, not a punishment. We'd rather end the contract early on good terms than carry inertia for two more quarters.

v

The repository is yours. Renewal isn't automatic.

At month 6 or month 12 — whichever ends your contract — the repository transfers to you. Fully, no strings. If you want to continue, the next contract starts with a fresh conversation about what you actually need. We don't believe in renewal invoices that bank on you forgetting to cancel.

Book a 30-minute fit call

Tell us what you're trying to figure out.

First call is free. No discovery-call theatre. We come back within a working day with a sense of fit, a rough scope, and a contract recommendation — six months or twelve. Whichever makes sense for what you described.
